Classical Introduction to Pilates
Pre Pilates Classes
Begin at the beginning, with an introduction that gives you the freedom to focus on alignment of your body and mind. Learn the basics - including how to get on and off the reformer, the spring set up, reformer set up, and transitions. Care is taken to show you how to set up the reformer in the correct gear for your body.
Experience the movement system as a beginner while in a small group setting designed with your specific needs in mind. You will improve strength, coordination, flexibility, balance and stability while preparing for more advanced classes. We recommend attending a min of 8 Beginner or Level 1 Classes before advancing to level 2 or 3. Space is limited to 7 students to allow our instructor to correct and modify for all fitness levels and ages.
Not quite ready to hop into a class or currently rehabbing an injury? We offer introductory private sessions to all new clients. These sessions will allow you to get started at Shine at your own pace.

Beginner Pilates
We believe in the importance of building a solid foundation and have designed these classes to help you achieve proper alignment, technique, and a more mindful practice. These classes are perfect for anyone wanting to master each movement while getting a full-body workout. This class will help you build lean muscle tone, increase your flexibility, and help you let go of any tension from your day.
* Please note that these classes are only available to those who have completed a minimum of four Intro to Pilates Classes.
Reformer Pilates is a full-body, low-impact workout that can help you tone your muscles and build strength. It also improves core and posture and helps you relax. With the intensity and dynamics of reformer Pilates, you can get more out of the time you spend exercising.
Pilates reformer work is low-impact and adaptable to all fitness levels. It benefits everyone from teenagers to seniors and elite athletes to people with a more sedentary lifestyle,” she says. “Pilates reformer work focuses on core strength and proper muscle engagement which improves athletic performance, back pain, injury recovery, weight loss, balance, bone density and posture to name a few. It is a movement system designed to better our everyday life and well-being.
The reformer accommodates a full range of motion, which is great for increasing flexibility while building strength. The pushing and pulling with the arms and legs against the resistance of the springs, carriage and body weight makes this a unique strength-building full-body workout that’s different from the regular Pilates exercises performed on the mat.
Please Note:
You must complete Four PrePilates classes and Two weeks of Beginners before enrolling in this class.
